Salmon Oil is a great way to augment your dog’s diet. Dosing:
Basic dosing rule for cats and dogs is to start with very small doses and work up to full doses based on how your animal responds and tolerates CBD. Generally the rule is to provide 5 mg CBD for every 10 pounds of body weight. One half dropper delivers approximately 5mg CBD. The SERENE CBD mascot Toro is a 32 pound dog terrier mix that receives 2-3 full droppers per serving, twice a day and it is well tolerated. Give to your pet every 8 hours, 2x per day or as needed.
Warnings:
- Please consult your veterinarian before administering CBD to your pets.
- Do not administer CBD if your pet is on any medications prescribed by your vet unless otherwise directed by your vet.
- Watch for drowsiness with your pet. If there is a significant increase in drowsiness please cease using this product for a week and re-introduce in smaller doses as tolerated. Your animal continues to show signs of drowsiness or fatigue please discontinue use of this product.
- Salmon oil oxidizes quickly after being exposed to oxygen. Discard any unused portion 60 days after opening container. For best results we recommend using this product within 30-45 days of opening.
- Although it is rare in the small doses we recommend, Fish Oil and MCT oil both have potential to cause diarrhea with animals. Please discontinue use if your pet has runny stool or diarrhea after using this product.
- Dry mouth: Research has shown that CBD can decrease the production of saliva. For dogs, this would manifest as an increased thirst.
- Lowered blood pressure: High doses of CBD have been known to cause a temporary drop in blood pressure. Even though the drop is small, it might create a brief feeling of light-headedness.
