The company’s founder, Erica Valker, had started a cannabis venture in 2011 in California where she then suddenly became very ill with late stage chronic Lyme disease that went undetected for years. Erica would struggle with the disease for several years, including daily battles with severe pain, seizures and complete disability before finding success with medical cannabis & CBD treatments, which she now credits for helping to save her life.

The LymeLight Foundation, based in Burlingame California, awards grants to families with eligible children and young adults who have been diagnosed with Lyme disease but struggle to afford proper treatment. Unfortunately, most treatment plans for Chronic Lyme are not covered by insurance and many families struggle to pay for medical treatments for their children. While existing Lyme foundations mainly focus on funding research and awareness, LymeLight Foundation is uniquely dedicated to funding medical treatment for individuals.
